C) Purpose
1) Rubberised Corks / Sheets are sealing materials compounded with Nitrile ( NBR ) to provide tight sealing to prevent oil leakage and are suitable for most lubrication fluids at application temperatures.
D) Scope
Ideal for automotive applications such as thrust washers, oil pan gaskets, valve covers and timing gear cover gaskets, including applications involving lubrication oils like Engine Oil & Gear Oil.
E) Characteristics
1) Conforms to all present regulations for hazardous substances like Asbestos & Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons ( PAH ) Free & RoHS Compliant.
2) Compression strength exceeds 70 MPa . ( 10,000 psi ) ( ASTM F36 )
3) High Tensile strength, Stress range from 6.0 ~ 20 MPa.
( 870 to 2900 psi )
4) Resistance to Temperature from -20 ° C to +110 ° C
5) Suitable for fluid contacts like Engine Oil and Gear Oil. Adequate for Unleaded Gasoline and unsuitable for E-85, B-100, MEG & PEG coolant.
6) Hardness ( IRHD ) : 80 ± 5 Shore A ( ASTM D2240 )
7) Colour: Dark Brownish
8) Density: ~980 Kg/m³
